A SHALEM Speakers Series Program

The Technion - the Israel Institute of Technology - is a public research university founded in 1912, making it the oldest university in the country. Located in Haifa, the Technion offers degrees in science and engineering, as well as medicine, architecture, industrial management, and education. It has 19 academic departments, 60 research centers, and 12 affiliated teaching hospitals; and it counts among its faculty members three Nobel Laureates in chemistry.  It is a major factor in the rise of Israel as a global technology powerhouse. Irv Elenberg - Chief Development Officer of the American Technion Society - will speak on the role of the Technion within Israel and why its work is crucial to Jews and non-Jews worldwide.
