SELL YOUR CHAMETZ
Deadline: Friday, April 11 by 8:30 am

No leaven shall be seen or found in your possession during Passover.
- Deuteronomy 16:4

Much as we may try to eat up our chametz before Passover, it's not really an achievable task. The Rabbis introduced the practice of “selling” chametz to a non-Jew for Passover.  Click here to authorize Rabbi Werbow to sell your chametz.

PASSOVER FOOD DELIVERIES
Sponsored by the Social Action Committee

Sunday, April 6 at 9 am

Every year, TI members help to deliver bags of Passover items to needy elders in DC and Montgomery County. TI is usually assigned around 75 bags to deliver. Volunteers bring the bags to the elders' residences and often spend a little quality time speaking with the recipients. If volunteers take 3 bags, we can use 25 people. Volunteers will line up outside by the table and sign forms prior to taking bags and selecting delivery locations.

Register here by Friday, April 4
(You will be asked to log in to ShulCloud.)

MAOT HITIN/מעות חטים

Deadline: Friday, April 11 by 9 am

It is incumbent upon all of us to assure that everyone in our midst can provide the necessary food for a Passover Seder and for the general holiday observance. With the approach of spring and Passover, it has long been the tradition of congregations to collect maot hitin (literally wheat money), which is used to help poor Jews prepare for Passover, the great festival of liberation.

Please contribute via this form or by check marked Rabbi's Discretionary Fund - Maot Hitin so we have adequate funds to help the many Jews who will be turning to us prior to Passover.  Your generosity will enrich other Jewish families physically and spiritually, as they celebrate this holiday of freedom.

Chag Sameach from all of us at Tifereth Israel.

Sincerely yours,

Rabbi Michael Werbow
