A Taste of Saging | Getting in Touch with Aging


Ever wondered how you will handle your own aging?

An introductory workshop based on the book From Age-ing to Sage-ing by
Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, zt’’l

Come to this introductory session to enhance your awareness of what Reb Zalman calls our “Harvest Years.”  This program will include a taste of reflective exercises on the practical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of Age-ing.  An expanded workshop will be offered in the fall. 

Michele Sumka has worked as a Preschool Educator and Reiki Master in the U.S. and in Kenya, Bosnia and Israel. She is a student in the ALEPH (Alliance for Jewish Renewal) Age-ing to Sage-ing® Mentorship program. In October she will complete her training to become a Sage-ing Facilitator. She is also enrolled in the ALEPH Ordination Program in Jewish Spiritual Direction Training.

Rabbi Devorah Lynn grew up at Tifereth Israel.  She was the Para-Rabbi and Elderhostel Director of Bermuda for 12 years. Devorah was ordained in 2006 by HUC-JIR, NYC.  She led Beth Sholom Temple in Fredericksburg, VA for six years and last year renovated and moved into the house in which she grew up down the hill from TI.  Devorah is now studying Sage-ing with ALEPH, Meditation Teacher Training with the Institute of Jewish Spirituality, and will be in a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) cohort at the Hebrew Home this fall.
