Shalem | Jewish Roots of American Communities, and their future

Saturday Afternoon, 1:15 p.m.
November 21st

By Yoni Appelbaum

Having studied this topic as an academic, and now covering it as a writer, Yoni Appelbaum will talk about the long arc of associational life in the United States – from the nineteenth century, when most contemporary communal institutions took shape (including many of the Jewish ones), to the present day.

Yoni Appelbaum has a PhD in American History from Brandeis, was a lecturer on history and literature at Harvard, and is now a Senior Editor at The Atlantic. He is a member of our neighbor across the street, Ohev Shalom.
