Jeffrey Colman, Deputy Director of Policy and Governmental Affairs for AIPAC
(American Israel Public Affairs Committee) - will be speaking on
The Changing middle East | Israel and the U.S.

Mr. Colman describes his subject matter as follows:

After fighting an unexpected war with Hamas this summer, Israel now faces Palestinian efforts at the UN to impose a peace agreement as well as a rise in terror attacks.  The so-called "Arab Awakening" or "Arab Spring" threatens to erase international borders as Islamic extremist groups battle for power across the region.

Meanwhile, the most significant threat to Israel and the US in the region, Iran's efforts to develop a nuclear weapon, remains unresolved amidst apparent gaps between the Israeli and US positions.

Brunch:  We will be serving lox, cream cheese, bagels, quiche, danish or cake, juice and coffee. The cost is $12 per person  ($10 for Gevarim members) - and we have limited space.
