Gevarim (Men's Club)

Gevarim is the current incarnation of the former TI Men’s Club. Historically, synagogue clubs based on gender and age have offered programs and activities that enhance members’ sense of community and engagement in and appreciation for Judaism. Gevarim seeks to provide a variety of educational activities and social and cultural activities of particular interest to men, while also welcoming women to participate.

TALMUD STUDY

Rabbi Seidel began teaching this popular class in 2017, using the newly available 42-volume English translationTalmud Bavli, published by Koren Publishers and prepared in conjunction with Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz. TI members can log in to access the Talmud here. The class is currently working its way through the last chapter of Sanhedrin, which is full of both ancient and surprisingly modern questions, and class discussions have been rich and challenging – as is the custom here at TI. Talmud study meets monthly on Shabbat after Kiddush lunch.
