SHALEM: Making Judaism More Accessible

Saturday, September 14, 2024 11 Elul 5784

What can synagogues and other Jewish institutions do to be more welcoming to people with physical, visual, audio, cognitive, or other limitations?  What can we at TI do to become a more welcoming community?

Making Judaism More Accessible will take the form of a conversation between Livia Thompson and TI member Rabbi Lauren Tuchman.  Livia Thompson serves as Executive Director of the Jewish Braille Institute, the world's foremost organization focused on the needs of Jews who are blind, have low vision, or are print disabled. Rabbi Lauren Tuchman is a much sought-after speaker and consultant on matters relating to inclusion and access, and is perhaps the first blind person in the world to enter the rabbinate.

The program will be accessible via the same Zoom link that is used for Shabbat services. TI members can access the link here (you must be logged in).
