Beginner Siddur Hebrew (Using Aleph Isn't Tough) – Judy Tulchin

No previous knowledge assumed – we begin with alef. The course covers everything you need to be able to read the Hebrew alphabet (consonants and vowels), plus some basic vocabulary. At the end of the class, participants should be able to read Biblical/Siddur Hebrew comfortably and be ready to move on to grammar.

Judy Tulchin learned most of her Hebrew as an adult and has been using it to pray, study, read Torah, and prepare talks on the weekly Torah portion for the past three decades. She is a professor of mathematics at Georgetown University and a TI board member. She is married to Allan Tulchin; they have two children, Hillel and Lena, in TI’s Himmelfarb school.
